FAQ

Where do you ship, and how much is shipping?

We ship from Himeji, Japan to the United States by EMS (Japan Post), fully tracked. Shipping is a flat $12 per order, and free on orders of $100 or more.

Will I pay duties or taxes on delivery?

No. US import duties are calculated and paid at checkout, so there is nothing more to pay when your parcel arrives.

How long does delivery take?

We dispatch within 3 business days. Delivery usually takes 3–7 days after that. You will get a tracking number by email.

Can I send it as a gift?

Yes. Gift sets come in a gift box or gift bag with a small card explaining the pattern and its wish. You can ship straight to the person you are giving it to; we never put a price or receipt inside the parcel. You can add a short message for the card in the cart.

What do the patterns mean?

Each pattern is a traditional Japanese motif that carries a wish, such as good health, good fortune or lasting calm. You can browse by meaning on the home page, and each product page explains its pattern.

Why does each piece look slightly different?

The washi and fabric are dyed by hand, so the color and pattern vary a little from piece to piece. This is normal for hand-dyed materials. Damage or a manufacturing fault is a different matter: please contact us and we will sort it out.

Can I return something?

Yes. Write to us within 14 days of delivery. Unused items in their original condition can be returned; return shipping is paid by the customer. If an item arrives damaged, send us a photo within 7 days and we will replace it or refund you in full.

Do you sell to shops?

Yes. Retailers can order wholesale through our Faire shop at fuwamarket.faire.com, or write to us for a line sheet.
