The Craft

Our washi is dyed by Maruyama Senko, a Yuzen dyeing workshop in Nantan, Kyoto. Each sheet comes out a little different, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

The dyed washi is then made into notebooks, pen cases, binders and boxes by partner workshops in Japan. Those who dye, those who make, those who finish: we see them all as partners.

Because the washi is dyed by hand, color and pattern vary slightly from piece to piece. This is the nature of hand-dyed paper, not a fault.
